If you have a headache, then it’s often easy enough to visit a site such as www.migralex.com and buy some medication that can provide immediate relief.
However, when you get headaches on a regular basis, you might want to start thinking about what is causing the problem.
With this in mind, here are 5 ways to avoid headaches:
Watch your stress levels
It’s no secret that stress is one of the major causes of headaches, especially stress headaches and tension headaches.
If you have been feeling your stress levels rising recently, then you should look at ways to reduce this. Consider getting more exercise, going for a massage, meditating before bed, and going for regular walks in the fresh air.
Ease tension in your muscles
Another factor which contributes to headaches is tension in your muscles, especially the muscles of your upper back, neck and head.
We often don’t realize when these muscles are becoming tense, which is why it’s a good idea to take regular breaks throughout the day to give yourself a mini-massage.
Also, make sure you practice good posture when sitting down for long periods of time, by keeping your back straight and lower back well supported.
Watch what you eat
Everybody has certain foods that cause them to get a headache. For this reason, it’s a good idea to keep a journal, where you can record all of the foods that you eat and the times of the day when headaches occur.
This can give you some ideas on what foods may be causing your headaches. Some of the foods that are the main offenders include cheese, cream, soy sauce, sausages, ham, vinegar, and milk.
Don’t become dehydrated
If you want to avoid headaches then make sure you keep your body well hydrated. How do you achieve this? By drinking lots of water throughout the day.
It is recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water per day…more if you feel your body needs it. Also, if it is hot outside or you are traveling by air, then you make need to drink extra water to stop your body from becoming dehydrated.
Too much caffeine
Most people enjoy a coffee in the morning, but drinking too much is a surefire way to start bringing on the headaches.
For this reason, try cutting back on the amount of caffeine that you intake on a daily. You could try eliminating coffee altogether, or switch to a different brand that has reduced caffeine.
