7 Tips for a Better Vaginal Hygiene

All women have the same problem, and that is staying comfortable and hygienic down low. There are plenty of factors that affect the well-being of the vagina, and much of these are because of the things we do everyday – exercise, sex, hormonal changes, choice of clothes, accessories, etc. Unfortunately, the vagina is one of the most sensitive parts of the body and without proper hygiene, could easily be home to thousands of bacteria, both good and bad for it.

In order to make sure it becomes a great home for good bacteria, make sure to follow these seven tips below:

  1. Be Careful When Washing. The most intimate areas are the most sensitive to stimuli. However, it being sensitive does not mean that you should clean it internally. Your body can do so on its own. All you need to do is to wash the external parts with products design for cleaning it or you may want to use warm water.
  1. Listen To Your Body. Your body cannot talk. However, it can make you feel that something is wrong with it – abnormal bleeding, bad odor, unusual rashes, itching, pain, etc. Make sure to consult your gynecologist immediately if you feel or see something wrong.
  1. Visit the Gyno. Sure, much like how you may not like visiting the dentist often, going to the gyno occasionally helps you out more than you can think of. Remember, prevention is better than cure and if you cannot prevent it, early diagnosis make it highly possible for you to survive serious illnesses that may first show signs in your intimate areas.
  1. Strengthen Your Vagina. Sure, your vagina works out when you have sex, but that is not enough. You need to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. While I cannot tell you how to do so, I can tell you that it can help lead to better quality of sex and bladder control
  1. Use Condoms. Condoms protect your intimate areas from STDs. However, it also protects it from other types of vaginal infections. Make sure you think past pregnancy prevention whenever you have sex and require your partner to use a condom.
  1. Do Not Wear Tight Clothing Often. Tight clothes do not allow our body to have enough breathing room. Wardrobe made out of polyester can lead to hot and moist area, which may cause chafing, and irritation to your intimate areas. To avoid making your body more susceptible to infection, give it a little more breathing room the next time you choose what to wear.
  1. Always Wash Before Sex. Your pre and post-coital ritual should always include a trip to the bathroom to either pee or to take a bath. You need to clean the tubes first before you think about getting it on. This is the most hygienic way to make sure that your body does not become a zest pool to bacteria and infections.
